The finished product included a glass candle cup and lid, so protection had to be planned around the full packed item rather than the empty vessel alone.

Protective cartons for lidded glass jar candles.
A four-variant kraft corrugated packaging system developed for glass candles that needed a more secure journey.
An established European candle manufacturer needed a carton that could support its lidded glass vessels through handling, while giving each of four fragrance series its own distinct colour and a more tactile brand finish.

THE BRIEF
Protect the vessel without losing the brand feel.
The packaging needed to answer the practical risks of a glass cup and lid, then make room for four fragrance identities. The structure, inner support and surface treatment were considered together.
Control movement in transit
Upper and lower internal supports were needed to help hold the jar in position and reduce free movement against the carton walls.
Make four scents recognisable
Each fragrance needed a clear visual colour direction, while the structure and brand presentation remained consistent across the family.
Keep the finish tactile
Four-colour printing was combined with embossing and UV treatment to give the shelf-facing surfaces a more considered, premium feel.
THE PROTECTIVE SYSTEM
A corrugated carton built around the complete candle.
The final format was a three-layer kraft corrugated automatic-bottom carton. The automatic bottom provided a faster, secure locking base, while the upper and lower inserts were planned to create defined support around the filled jar.

One dieline, four fragrance directions.
Using one structural format helped the project keep production and packing consistent while allowing each scent to carry a distinctive colour. The printed panels, base lock and insert dimensions were planned as one sampled package.

The customer was satisfied with the protective role of the internal supports around the glass candle. The single structure also gave the four fragrance series a consistent pack format with different colour identities and tactile finishing details.

Yes. This project kept one dieline and structural system while changing the printed colour direction across four fragrance variants. Artwork, barcodes and finish placement should be checked variant by variant.
Do glass candle cartons always need an insert?
Not every format needs the same support. Where the product needs to be held in a defined position, an insert or other internal support can be developed around the actual vessel and its intended journey.
Is the 4-day sample and 13-day bulk timeline available for every project?
Those were the timings achieved for this specific project. Future timing depends on structure, artwork readiness, materials, order quantity and required approval; transit is additional.
