CUSTOM PACKAGING SUPPORT

Clear answers for your
packaging project.

Practical guidance for the decisions that come before production.

Browse the questions buyers ask about artwork, samples, production, delivery and quality. For a project-specific answer, send us your product details and target quantity.

01 / ORDERING & MOQ

Start with a workable brief.

Share the product, target quantity, delivery destination and any reference packaging. That gives us the information needed to assess the correct route.

What is the minimum order quantity?
Custom packaging starts from 100 pieces. Where a project contains different structures, sizes or artwork versions, each item is reviewed separately so the quotation reflects the real production setup.
Do you work with new brands and first launches?
Yes. A 100-piece starting quantity can suit a launch, limited collection or initial retail test. The product and packaging requirements still need to be clear enough to produce a reliable sample and quotation.
Can one project include several box types or designs?
Yes. A gift set may include an outer box, insert, sleeve and card; a range may include several artwork variants. List every component and quantity so they can be planned as one project.
What should I send for a quotation?
Start with product dimensions or images, box quantity, destination, target date, box references and any artwork or finish preferences. A complete technical file is helpful, but not required for the first conversation.

02 / CUSTOMIZATION

Build around the actual product.

Packaging choices work together: structure, size, board, wrapping paper, print, finish and insert should support the same product and brand objective.

What can be customized?
Size, box construction, board and paper, printing, foil, embossing, lamination, inserts, ribbons and other presentation details can be considered as part of a custom project.
Can you match a brand colour?
Share the intended colour reference, such as a Pantone code, printed sample or approved artwork. Colour appearance also depends on the paper, print method and finish, so it should be reviewed on the relevant physical sample where colour is critical.
Which artwork files are best?
Editable vector artwork, such as AI, PDF or EPS, is best for production preparation. If the artwork is not final, send the logo, copy and visual references available; the required dieline and next artwork step can then be identified.
Can you recommend a finish or insert?
Yes. Explain the product weight, fragility, presentation goal and budget. That helps determine whether paperboard, foam, EVA, velvet, dividers or another insert direction is appropriate, and which finish will be practical for the chosen material.
Can confidential artwork be shared?
Tell us before sending any confidential brand or product information. The appropriate communication and confidentiality requirements can be agreed before project files are exchanged.

03 / SAMPLING & APPROVAL

Approve the real object before bulk production.

A physical sample is the practical reference for fit, structure, artwork placement, material feel and visible finishing.

Can I receive a physical sample?
Yes. A sample route can be planned before bulk production when fit, opening, inserts, colour or finishing needs to be confirmed on the real object.
How long does sampling take?
Sample planning typically runs 2–8 working days once the relevant structure, artwork and material direction are clear. The confirmed timing depends on the project and is agreed before sampling begins.
What should be checked on a sample?
Check the product fit, finished dimensions, opening and removal experience, insert support, material and finish appearance, print direction and the version of artwork that will move into production.
Can changes be made after sample review?
Yes. Resolve changes to dimensions, structure, artwork, materials or finishes before written approval. A change can affect the cost and schedule, which is why the sample stage is the right place to document it.

04 / PRODUCTION

Production follows an agreed reference.

Bulk work begins after the specification, final artwork and approval route have been confirmed for the actual project.

When does production lead time begin?
Production timing begins once the required specification and approval are in place. Artwork readiness, materials, finishes, quantity and packing requirements all form part of the confirmed route.
What is the usual production planning range?
For the custom projects described on this site, bulk production is generally planned at 13–20 working days after the approved specification is released. The project quotation confirms the actual schedule.
Can a launch date be planned in advance?
Yes. Share the target launch date and destination at the outset. The project can then be planned backwards through artwork, sample, approval, production and shipment stages.
Can I receive updates during production?
Agree the required update points with your project contact before production begins, especially where the project includes several components, a fixed launch date or special inspection requirements.

05 / SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Plan delivery from the start.

The shipping route is affected by destination, delivery date, finished carton size and quantity, so it should be discussed before production is released.

Can you help plan international delivery?
Share the destination country, required delivery date and preferred shipment approach. We can discuss packing and shipment planning around the requirements of the project.
Which shipping method should I choose?
Air, courier and sea routes have different costs, transit times and carton requirements. The suitable option depends on the order volume, launch deadline and delivery destination.
Can packaging be prepared for retail or fulfilment requirements?
Provide the retailer, marketplace or fulfilment instructions before artwork and packing are approved. Labels, carton marks, packing configuration and documentation requirements should be checked as part of the project brief.
Who handles import requirements?
Import clearance, duties and destination-country requirements should be clarified with the responsible importer or logistics provider. Share the delivery terms needed for your project early so the shipment plan is clear.

06 / QUALITY & PROJECT SUPPORT

Review against the agreed standard.

For custom packaging, the approved sample and confirmed specification are the clearest reference for production and inspection.

How is quality checked?
Checks are planned around the agreed structure, dimensions, materials, finish, insert, artwork direction, assembly and export-packing requirements of the project.
Can I arrange a third-party inspection?
Tell us before production or shipment planning begins. The inspection requirement, timing and reference documents can then be included in the project schedule.
What if I find an issue after delivery?
Keep the relevant packaging, record clear photos and contact us promptly with the order details. The issue can then be reviewed against the approved reference and the practical next step discussed.
Can material or compliance requirements be discussed?
Yes. For food-adjacent products, regulated categories or destination-specific requirements, share the product use and target market before materials are selected. Requirements should be confirmed for the actual product and market, rather than assumed.

07 / PAYMENT

Clear terms before the project moves forward.

The quotation, approval route and payment schedule should match the agreed project specification.

What are the payment terms?
Our standard payment arrangement is 30% deposit when the order is confirmed and 70% balance before shipment. The project invoice confirms the payment details for the order.
When is the balance payment due?
The remaining 70% balance is arranged before shipment. Confirm the timing needed for inspection, final packing and your shipment release with your project contact early in the process.
What does the quotation cover?
The quotation is prepared against the agreed box specification, quantity and project requirements. Review the scope, components, sample route, packing and shipment terms before confirming the order.

08 / TECHNICAL GUIDANCE

Turn an idea into a buildable box.

Technical choices are strongest when they begin with the product itself: its size, weight, fragility, presentation and delivery route.

What box size can be made?
Custom dimensions are planned around the product and required insert, rather than a fixed stock size. Share the product measurements, weight and any required clearance so the outer box can be sized correctly.
How is rigid-board thickness selected?
Board thickness affects stiffness, perceived quality, weight and cost. The appropriate option depends on box size, construction, product weight and the desired presentation; it is confirmed as part of the material specification.
Can barcodes, QR codes or product information be printed?
Yes, static artwork elements can be included where the artwork and panel layout allow. Supply the correct codes and required copy before final artwork approval, and check scanability on the production-relevant sample where needed.
Can sustainable material directions be considered?
Yes. Explain the relevant sustainability objective, product use and destination requirements. Material selection should balance the intended claim, performance, protection and finish requirements of the project.
Can you prepare a dieline or packaging visual?
Once the structural direction is defined, the required dieline and visual preparation can be discussed as part of the artwork and sample route. The information issued should always match the approved structure.
