HOW CUSTOM PACKAGING MOVES FORWARD

Clarity before the order. Confidence before production.

Custom packaging works best when the structure, material, artwork and approval points are agreed in sequence. Our process gives brand teams a practical route from an early brief to a finished order—without losing sight of fit, presentation or production details.

PROJECT-SPECIFIC QUALITY CONTROL

Five checkpoints from
material to finished packing.

Quality is not a generic inspection label. For custom packaging, it means comparing each stage with the agreed artwork, material route, structural drawing and approved sample.

  1. 01

    Materials

Board, wrap paper, insert material and components are matched to the project specification before they move into the relevant process.

  2. 02

    Artwork & print

Panel orientation, key copy, colour direction and named finish areas are checked against the agreed artwork reference.

  3. 03

    Structure & fit

Die-cut, crease, box assembly and product or insert fit are checked against the approved structural direction.

  4. 04

    Finish & assembly

Visible details such as lamination, foil, embossing, wrap alignment and insert placement are assessed against the agreed sample.

  5. 05

    Packing & handover

Finished units, packing condition and outer-carton requirements are reviewed for the selected delivery plan.

ONE PROJECT, FIVE DECISION POINTS

From an idea to an approved production reference.

The exact route varies by box type and finish. The important part is that each step creates a clearer specification or a defined approval before the next one begins.

  1. Define the brief

Start with the product, quantity, destination, target date and presentation goal.

    Outcome: a usable starting specification
  2. Plan the structure

Review box style, dimensions, board route, insert direction and handling needs.

    Outcome: a practical structural direction
  3. Prepare artwork & sample

Align the artwork with the dieline, material and finish, then make the appropriate sample. Read the artwork and sample approval guide ↗

    Outcome: a reference to review
  4. Confirm the details

Document agreed dimensions, material, finish, insert and artwork before production is released.

    Outcome: an approved specification
  5. Produce, check & pack

Coordinate production around the agreed reference, then prepare finished packs for the selected shipment plan.

Outcome: finished packaging ready to ship
01 / PRODUCT

Product fit and opening experience

We begin with product dimensions, weight, shape, protection needs and how the customer should open or remove the product. These inputs guide the outer box and insert direction.

  • Product size and weight
  • Bottle, jar or component geometry
  • Removal and presentation
02 / STRUCTURE

Box construction and internal support

The box style, board grade and insert approach should support the product, its sales channel and the intended presentation. A rigid gift box and an ecommerce mailer solve different problems.

  • Box style
  • Board and paper route
  • Insert and protection approach
03 / ARTWORK

Print, colour and surface finish

Artwork needs to work on the approved dieline. Finish areas such as foil, embossing, spot UV or lamination need a clear position and reference before production.

  • Artwork placement
  • Colour direction
  • Foil and surface details
04 / APPROVAL

Sampling as a decision point

A sample gives the brand team a physical opportunity to review structure, fit, appearance and handling. When a revision is needed, it is better to resolve it before the bulk production route is released.

  • Structure and fit
  • Material and finish
  • Approved reference
05 / DELIVERY

Bulk packing and shipment readiness

Finished packaging needs a packing approach that matches its structure and shipment method. We confirm the practical export-carton and handling requirements as part of the production plan.

  • Assembly or flat packing
  • Outer-carton protection
  • Quantity and destination

QUALITY IS A SHARED REFERENCE

Agree what “right” looks like before bulk production.

For custom work, inspection makes sense only against something agreed: the dimensions, materials, finish, insert, artwork and approved reference. This creates a clearer basis for communication during sampling, production and packing.

BEFORE SAMPLING

Specification review

Confirm the product, structure direction, quantity, destination, material preferences and visible finish requirements.

BEFORE PRODUCTION

Sample & approval

Review the relevant sample and document the version, adjustments and details to carry into the production plan.

DURING FINISHING & PACKING

Practical checks

Check work against the agreed reference, including appearance, assembly and finished packing requirements.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Answers before the first sample.

A better brief does not need to be a finished technical specification. It needs enough context to make the first recommendation useful.

What should I send before requesting a quotation?
Share product dimensions and weight, intended box style, estimated quantity, artwork status, delivery destination and target timing. Reference images or a physical product sample can also help define the right starting point.
Does every custom packaging project need a physical sample?
A physical sample is especially useful when product fit, inserts, opening mechanisms or surface finishes are important. The suitable sample route depends on the structure and the details that need to be confirmed before production.
How are changes handled after sampling?
Changes to dimensions, materials, artwork, finishes or inserts should be documented and reviewed before the affected production stage begins. They can affect the quotation and timeline.
How is quality reviewed for a custom packaging project?
The practical review points are built around the agreed project specification and approved reference: structure and fit, material and finish, artwork direction, assembly and export-packing requirements.
