Make the opening feel intentional

REAL PROJECT · NORTH AMERICAN PERFUME BRAND
A deep-lid rigid box that keeps the structure simple while giving the brand an elevated opening moment.
A North American perfume brand wanted premium presentation without an overly complicated box construction. The priority was a refined, luxurious presence from first touch through opening, with the fragrance bottle held in a soft, precisely fitted insert.

THE BRIEF
The customer did not need a highly engineered opening mechanism. They needed a box whose proportion, surface finish and fitted presentation would make the fragrance feel considered and premium.
The box had to establish a premium first impression before the product was revealed, using a substantial lid and a clean presentation sequence.
A fitted EVA insert with a velvet-facing surface was selected to position the perfume bottle and give the inside a softer, gift-ready feel.
Gold foil details were used to bring contrast and definition to the exterior without needing a visually busy design.
The lid-and-base format kept the construction direct, while the board, insert and exterior details carried the luxury presentation.

THE FINAL STRUCTURE
The final package is a two-piece rigid box: a deep lid that lowers over a shallow base. This format is commonly called a lid-and-base rigid box, sometimes described as a deep-lid rigid box. The firm 1,200 gsm board gives the exterior its structure while the insert prepares a defined place for the fragrance bottle.
DETAILS THAT CARRY THE EXPERIENCE
The photo set shows why a simple two-piece construction can still create a distinctive unboxing experience: the deeper lid gives the first moment visual weight, and the gold-toned, velvet-faced insert provides contrast before the bottle is lifted out.

PROJECT OUTCOME
The customer was satisfied with the completed first production order and the luxury presentation achieved through the lid proportion, fitted insert and gold foil details. They indicated an intention to continue working with LUXTON PACK on future packaging projects.
CASE-STUDY QUESTIONS
This is a useful starting reference for perfume projects that need a substantial presentation with a direct two-piece structure. A physical sample should confirm the exact bottle fit, removal experience and finished dimensions.
It is a two-piece lid-and-base rigid box. The deep upper lid lowers over a shallow base; there is no magnetic closure or drawer mechanism in this construction.
A fitted EVA insert can support a defined bottle shape, and a velvet-facing surface can add softness to the presentation. The final insert should always be sampled around the actual bottle, cap and removal requirements.
Yes. Foil can be discussed with textured paper, embossing, inside printing or other treatments. The right combination depends on artwork, intended touchpoints and the desired visual direction.
These were the timings for this specific project. Timing for a new project depends on structure, artwork readiness, material availability, quantity and approval steps; shipping is additional.
