PACKAGING BUYING GUIDE
How to Choose Ecommerce Packaging for Protection, Unboxing and Shipping
The most useful ecommerce package is one that can be packed repeatably, reaches the customer in good condition and still makes the first open feel deliberate.

Map the complete packing journey
Start with the finished product, any retail carton, the number of items per order and the people who pack it. Then map each layer: product support, presentation material and the outer delivery format. This prevents the outer mailer from being asked to solve every job alone.
Separate presentation from parcel protection
A retail carton or rigid gift box can create the branded reveal, while a corrugated mailer or shipper handles the delivery layer. In some projects one corrugated mailer can do both; in others, keeping the layers distinct makes the arrangement more practical.
Control product movement before adding decoration
Use the product dimensions, weight and clearance to discuss paperboard inserts, dividers, tissue or molded pulp. The aim is a repeatable arrangement that gives the product a defined place and helps the packing team build each order consistently.
Review size with the real order configuration
Do not base an ecommerce box solely on the single product. Include the retail pack, multiple items, cards, tissue and any accessories. This gives a more realistic outer size and packing sequence to review during sampling.
Sample the whole system
Review the product, insert, presentation layer and delivery layer together. A physical sample is the right time to check fit, opening, packing workflow and whether any adjustment is needed before bulk production.
